Description

Summary of Duties: Develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determine funding requirements for bi-weekly payroll and prepare journal entry to record bi-weekly payroll expense.
  • Initiate month-end close by reviewing checklist, determining deadlines and monitoring progress.
  • Prepare all bank reconciliations for preparation of monthly financial reports as well as year-end financial statements.
  • Analyze and prepare reconciliations of all general ledger balance sheet accounts.
  • Review schedules and amortize pre-paid expenses and deferred revenue.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and schedules. Prepare explanation of monthly variance analysis.
  • Prepare journal entries for intercompany transfers, investments and monthly closing allocations.
  • Review all Cash receipts reports for accuracy and post entries to the general ledger.
  • Prepare and maintain daily cash balance reports and monitor daily collateral amounts.
  • Assist the Director of Finance in the preparation for the annual audit and comprehensive annual financial report.
  • Assist the Director of Finance with cash and debt management duties as required.
  • Assist the Director of Finance in accounting for bonds, new accounts, and management of related agreements and contracts.
  • Assist the Director of Finance in the financial management and administration of economic development zones.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university.

Experience: Over three years up to and including five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:Knowledge of Governmental accounting software. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook/Teams.
